Hello, My name is Tim Neidiffer and I live in New Albany, IN where your son is serving his mission. I just wanted to let you know how proud you should be of your son. I have known missionaries for many years and I have to say that your son is a shining example of what missionaries should be. He is a sincere, humble, and trustworthy young man. I have been impressed with his spirit and testimony of the Gospel. He speaks highly of you and the examples you have set for him. Thank you for sharing him with us for this season. Tim Neidiffer

Dye Family, Thank you! Carson loves your son as his companion. He is always telling us how well they work together and how much fun they have. We love hearing about their experiences too. Carson has told us how sad he will be when one of them gets transfered. He has really enjoyed their companionship and their time together. We know that they will be life long friends. Merry Christmas! The Freestones

Thanksgiving 2011

Happy Thanksgiving. We’re trying to work our turkey off by playing pool. We thought you would enjoy these pictures. We enjoyed having the elders over for dinner. They’ll send you more information on Monday. Thanks for sharing your sons with us. Blake & Kathy Hutzley

August 2011

Dear Brother and Sister Dye: Your wonderful missionary son arrived here safe and sound Monday and is now happily working his heart out for the Lord. Seeing him there at the airport was a sight for sore eyes - he and the other missionaries were virtually glowing with excitement, smiling ear to ear. After retrieving all the bags, President Woodbury and I, and the two Assistants, drove everyone to our home in the Mission van which was pulling the large GKLM trailer. My husband conducted individual interviews while I held on orientation meeting which included filling out several forms. The Assistants took individual pictures to be used on the Assignment and Transfer Boards in the President's Offices here at the Mission Home and at the Mission Office. We had an Italian-themed lasagna dinner (I know it doesn't have anything to do with Kentucky, but the new missionaries still loved it) and afterwards assembled in the Training Room downstairs for Testimony Meeting; that's when the really great part of the evening occurred. Each of our new missionaries bore their testimony, which brought tears to both of our eyes. Your humble and strong son bore powerful witness of the Savior and His Gospel, his enthusiasm for the Work, and his dedication and commitment to serve with all his heart, mind, and strength. Afterwards, everyone got ready for bed, with chocolates on their pillows for sweet dreams, after a long day and anticipating the next. The next morning we all had a hot breakfast followed by instruction and Companionship Study led by the Assistants. After a group picture was taken on the front porch, we loaded up for the ride to the church next to the Mission Office where the Transfer Meeting is held. The new missionaries sat together as the gathering began and they were introduced to the song "Called to Serve" - GKLM style which includes a rousing lift to the sky and shout of "Go Baptize!" The departing missionaries shared their "Words of Wisdom" then the announcement of assignments began. Each new missionary stood as his or her name was called out by the President and then his or her Trainer and the area in which they would serve together. As each Trainer was announced, they exclaimed/cheered and hurried and in some cases ran over to meet "their" new Trainee, hugging, in the cases of the Elders, slapping each other on the back, high-fiving, etc. before going to sit front and center as a new companionship. The rest of transfers were then called out with each companion standing and doing some sort of connection, a "go!" sign, war whoop, or whatever they felt. Following the Transfer Meeting the others missionaries lingered to greet each other and pick up their recent mail before taking off on their new assignments. The New Missionaries and Trainers met together in another area for a Training Meeting, introducing the Church's new 12- Week Training Program. The components of the program will entail an extra hour of Companionship Study time each day before going out to work.. It is an inspired program that we feel will have a positive impact in our mission. Each Trainer, by the way, was hand-selected as being an exceptional missionary with superior proselyting skills and paired according to what we know of each new missionary After lunch there at the church, everyone had their picture taken with their Trainer by the sign outside the Mission Office, then took off to begin their first day of real missionary work. Elder Dye was smiling ear to ear as he drove off with Elder Kastendieck. He was and I'm sure is, on fire, prepared well and ready to bless this ripe field with his love and faith. You have every reason to be proud. Know that he is being watched over by the Lord, as well as us, and carries your love and support with him in all he does. We love him, too and are looking forward to great things with and through him. I hope you enjoy the photos I attached of Elder Dye's first twenty-four hours in the GKLM… Lovingly, Sister Woodbury

So this past week has definitely been an Interesting one! I ran a 5K on Pday with another missionary. He got 2nd and I got 3rd because we had to stay within sight and sound. I ran a 19.03 I was booking it! We found a new family of Investigators that we are super excited for. There are 2 boys ages 12 and 10 and a single dad. They know quite a few members of the Church and are coming to church next week. Kara Cluff will be getting baptized on June 15th and there is a possibility that will be my last baptism. It is the last one we have set up. Hopefully we can get one last one for the month of July! The members here are awesome. my shoes have been worn way out, and they bought me a new pair yesterday. I love them! Thats about it from KY! Love, Elder Dye

This week was pretty slow. We had alot of thunderstorms so it kinda made working difficult. Everyone out here gets really scared of storms and they tell us all to go home. It was super exciting to see those pics of Edgar. It kinda makes me feel old seeing all of those guys as graduated and juniors and seniors. I have been doing good. I am trying to catch up to Edgar on the bench before I get home. I got up 282 last night. Debbie and Danny were confirmed on Sunday and that only leaves three more people with bap dates. Our teaching pool is slowly "drowning" :) We will be hitting the streets this next week and getting some more things rolling. It is kinda weird to think that I probably wont see to many of these people baptized. Thats about it from Ky! Love, Elder Dye

Hi! How are you? We have just been doing a whole bunch of missionary work. We are having a family baptism this weekend. I am so stoked! They are awesome! It's the Silette family. They are probably my favorite investigators on my mission. Debbie is the sweetest lady ever. The ward is so excited for them. They are kingdom builders!

April 22nd, 2013

YO YO YO! We had a very fun week. Elder Carter had a crazy Idea this week to lead the mission. So he my slave driver from 11 am to 9:30 p.m. We were teaching every hour of the day. We definitely did pretty good this week. We are teaching 5 Part Member families who are all going to be baptized this upcoming month! Thanks for all of your prayers! Kaden Baxter was confirmed this Sunday and Charlie will be baptized after church this upcoming Sunday. We have been having family prayer with them and helping them make that a regular thing. The Day's are doing fantastic. The Silletta Family is the best family I have ever worked with on my mission. They paid their tithing on Sunday and Debbie is going to be called into the primary presidency. Their baptism is planned for May 4th and Danny and Debbie are both excited for that. She is quitting smoking today, and a less active member is quitting with her. Sister Cluff is another part member that we are working with. I had a conversation with her on Wednesday night at the church and I didn't ask to meet or push anything at all. I walked away and a few min. later a member waved me down and told me that Sis. Cluff was offended because I didn't ask her to take the lessons. So I asked her and she said yes. So we extended a date for May 10th and she is working toward that. She has been to church every Sunday since I have been here. She bet me that I couldn't get in her house... I was sitting onher couch when she got home from work. Her husband let us in and she freaked out. Then she told me that she would only take the lessons If I baked her some cinnamon rolls. So we went over to a members and it took me 4 hours to make cinnamon rolls, but I did it all by myself! You would be proud of me momma! Elder Carter has been handling things like a champ I am pretty proud of him. That's about it for Nicholasville. Love, Elder Dye

Hey Erryone, This past week was a brutal one. Charlies date got pushed back to the 21st because of stupid details that have really become a pain in my tush, but everything with them is great! Elder Carter and I are doing fantastic. We found another lady this week who is married to an inactive whose fire started burning again. We had a wonderful lesson and she will be getting baptized on the 28th of April. That will be 3 baptisms in the month of April. That doesn't happen to often down here in the Bible belt. The work is being hastened. I have hastened my work as well. I set a goal about 2 months ago to finish my mission with 40 converts. So the Lord needs to pump 7 more out of Elder Dye. 7 more in 15 weeks :/ Keep that in your prayers please. My other goal is to kick dads trash when I get home. Pray for that one too ;) I am getting pretty nervous to be done with my mission. I have got pretty brave on my mission, but I am little scured of "real life" That about does it for me. Love, Elder Dye

Whats up Family, We had an awesome first week. Elder Carter had his first baptism yesterday! Kaden Baxter got dunked and is now a mormon. His pops is next in line. We did WORK this past week. Elder Carter is so chill he and I get along perfectly. Things in the ward are going great as well. We have alot of member trust and the members take real good care of us. We got three different Easter baskets from families in the ward. The ward found out how long I have left and they all try and make me trunky it's pretty funny. I found out this past week that we have to figure out how to split our area because we are getting a set of sisters. I didn't tell you about all the new sisters. Now that the age is lowered we actually have hot sisters. When I was at transfer meeting it blew my old idea of sister missionaries out of the water! Elder Carter and I tried to go opossum hunting we spread out dog food all over our backyard, but nothing ever came. I bore my testimony in church on Sunday only because I needed a tissue it was pretty funny. thats about it from KY!

Hey! So Elder Carter and myself had a killer week this past week. We taught 47 total lesson. It was crazy. I have never been so tired in my life. I got the mold and I will be mailing it today. So we ran out of miles in our car for the month this past week so we have been walking all over, and chasing everyone down. Elder Carter is cool. He is from Kaysville Utah. He sold guns before his mission. He is getting pretty good at this missionary stuff. Almost better then his pops. It has been really weird having two opposite missionaries together. Wefigured out that when he has been out for 10 weeks I will have 10 weeks left. Everyone in Nicholasville is trying hard to convince me to move back after my mission is over. I am getting job offers, car offers, women offers... ok the last two arent true. It just made it sound better. I am glad everyone is doing awesome. You better be hitting the weights old man. When I get back I am going to whoop on you. I am weighin 185 and benching 245. I am a monster ;) Love you Elder Dye

Hey Hey Hey! Elder Sizleove and myself are living the dream here in Nicholasville We have some really cool members that take really good care of us. We really tore it up this past week because of all of our sick days last week. We taught more lessons and had more people to church then the three other companionships in our district combined. I am not bragging I am just letting you know how good of missionary Elder Sizelove is. We had a miracle this past week. It was actually yesterday. I don't know if I have talked about the Day family or not, but the husband is not a member. His name is charlie. He has always had the missionaries over, but has thrown some out for trying to teach him. We have been going over everyday because his son Kaden is 9 and is getting baptized on the 30th of March. Charlie and I are homies so we talk quite a bit. We helped them move into another house in our ward this past week as well and charlie sat me down and gave me a serious look and he got real quiet. I sat there for a second and I knew what was coming. He told me that he wanted to get baptized and that I needed to get everything done with him so he could. I know that this is the family that I was supposed to be on my mission for. Love, Elder Dye

March 4th, 2013

Hey Everyone, This past week was pretty awesome. It has consisted of watching "The Testaments" and "Joseph Smith Prophet of the Restoration". Elder Sizelove was super sick for about 4 days. We got sick of being inside together after the 2nd day and he had me wrap him up in a blanket and strap him in the car. We went and visited all of our investigators and I talked with them at the door while Sizelove was sicker then a dog in the driveway. He is one dedicated hombre. I talked with President Woodbury on Friday and he told me that I will be training a new missionary on the 19th of March! I am so excited to get a new 18 yr old! Saturday was pretty awesome! We were visited by Elder Perry, Elder Cook, Elder Clayton, and Elder Munns. It was pretty awesome we got to shake all of their hands. When I shook Elder Perry's hand he said, "Dye, Thats a short one. Must be nice." I didn't know if he was talking about me or my name. So I took it as a compliment and walked on down the line. During the closing hymn which was "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" I watched Elder Perry really close and while we were singing he looked up to Heaven and I had the thought that I had looked into someones eyes that has seen my living Savior. That is something that I will never forget. That about sums up my week. Love, Elder Dye

HEY HEY HEY! I AM SO EXCITED! I am in Nicholasville, Kentucky. The city of horse farms. They are everywhere it is so pretty. I will give you a breakdown of whats new: My companion: Elder Sizelove is his name. He has been out about 6 months and he is pretty cool. He is from Eagle River Alaska, and was a stud hockey player. He plans on playing at a college when he gets home. The Ward: It is super crazy. We have a few normal people and the rest are a little crazy. Imagine a bunch of backwoods Kentucky people at church. There is an Arab guy who comes to church in his terrorist attire. He stood up on a table next to a picture of Jesus and had a member take a picture of him. He is a few bricks short of a load. We have another member that chews tabacky at church! 20% of the ward have orange beards and missing teeth. But I did meet Brett Nelson's brother. He is in my ward. We talked for quite a while he is way cool. That about sums up my past week. peace and love. Elder Dye My new address is: Elder Dye 307 Lakeview Dr, Nicholasville, KY 40356

February 11th, 2013

Look at this! I am finally sending an Email!!!! So here is what is new: We had 10 investigators to church this past Sunday and Adam Roberson was baptized! I am getting transferred on Tuesday to Danville Kentucky. I am not too excited about the transfer... The only thing that I can even remember from this past week is Adams Baptism. I had to conduct the music, and all of Adams family is a bunch of tough old cowboys that don't sing. So I was up at the front of the room singing a solo by myself. It was super funny. I started laughing and I killed the music. haha I went back into the font to help Colt ( the son of the guy that reminds me of a darin and dad mix) because he was baptizing Adam. He did a super good job. Adam got out of the water and hugged me while I was in my suit. I was gunna kill him. But he started crying and telling me how good he felt. It was one of the most awesome moments on my mission. That's all that I can really remember about this week. I love yall! Elder Dye
